Whom do you serve?

First and foremost, since it is “Election Time”, then this question needs to be ask, of all our candidates: “Whom Do You Serve”? Is it “The People” or Special Interest Groups”?

Since the Escalating Gun Violence has our beloved City, Toronto in the grip of fear, then do the Candidates stand for: “Zero Gun Tolerance”?

YES or NO!

To you, the Candidates, and likewise to all Torontonians, do you agree, if a society does not bear arms and the deterrent within the Laws does not stand for Zero Gun Tolerance, or Awareness is created you cannot put an end to the rise in gun violence within a growing city, especially, when Gun hype and the lure of quick money is part of the social structure of today’s youths!

As such, do you agree that, the deterrent within the Laws must be “Zero Gun Tolerance”, which must transcend “The Young Offenders Acts”?

• Zero Bail for possession of illegal fire Arms and for illegal Trafficking of Fire Arms!
• 10 years Mandatory Sentence for Guilty Verdict of illegal possession of Fire Arms!
• 25 years Mandatory Sentence for Guilty Verdict of illegal Trafficking of Fire Arms!

Based on our present Gun crime rate, I ask you, anything less is it not to condone Criminality?

As such, we have put forth many correspondences to the Mayor, Mr. Miller and the Councilors of the City, to address the issues, and to ensure those propose additions to our Laws are adopted!

Based on the statistics of The Gun Violence can we afford not to have those laws in place? Is it not our lives that are at stake? Therefore in this summer of 2006, I Black put forth the question directly to the public, which was done, as video interviews!

Therefore, we, of I Black strongly accuse our elected officials of playing political games with the Lives of Canadians! Is it not preposterous not to have a Zero Gun Tolerance Law within a country, whereby the Society does not bear Arms? To all residents, to not have such Laws, is to condone Criminality!

Do You Stand For: Zero Gun Tolerance?

Why is it such a hard road to travel, when you require the actions of our governments for the benefit of the people and not “special interest groups”?  Yet it should be an easy trip to take, because they are our elected representatives!

To all Torontonians, do you agree, if a society does not bear arms and the deterrent within the Laws do not stand for Zero Gun Tolerance, or Awareness is created you cannot put an end to the rise in gun violence within a growing city?  Especially, when Gun hype and the lure of quick money is part of the social structure of today’s youths!

As such the deterrent within the Laws must be “Zero Gun Tolerance”, which must transcend “The Young Offenders Acts”!

Zero Bail for possession of illegal fire Arms and for illegal Trafficking of Fire Arms!

10 years Mandatory Sentence for Guilty Verdict of illegal possession of Fire Arms!

25 years Mandatory Sentence for Guilty Verdict of illegal Trafficking of Fire Arms!

Based on our present Gun crime rate, I ask you, anything less is it not to condone Criminality?  Therefore, join the campaign, to end the Gun Violence, and stand for Zero Gun Tolerance to be adopted within our Laws!  Truthfully, based on the statistics of The Gun Violence can we afford not to do so?  It is our lives that are at stake!  To view campaign: www.stopviolence.iblack.ca

June 2006

To: Mr. Miller, the Mayor of Toronto

June 20, 2006.

Dear Sir, greetings!

After meeting with Ms. Searles- Elam and Mr. Arnold Minors, I am compelled to ask you one question! Mr. Miller, is the intention of City Hall to seek a solution to end the Gun Violence that plague our City?

Surely, programs are always needed to help the poor, those at-risk, and those that are involve in deviances. However, you do agree that without the proper deterrent there are no consequences to ones actions? This does hold total truth, since the benefits of deviance outweigh the current risk, and the programs do not provide solutions!

Since, the prime Minister and the Premier of Ontario both have pledged millions of dollars to seek an end to the Gun Violence, which is disgracing our city, then as the Mayor should you not be seeking a “Solution” over “Treatments”?

First and foremost, do we, the Citizens of Toronto bear Arms? No! Then, is it not vital for “The Laws of The City to reflect the Society”? As such the deterrent within the Laws must be “Zero Gun Tolerance”, which must transcend “The Young Offenders Acts”!

Zero Bail for possession of illegal fire Arms and for illegal Trafficking of Fire Arms!
10 years Mandatory Sentence for Guilty Verdict of illegal possession of Fire Arms!
25 years Mandatory Sentence for Guilty Verdict of illegal Trafficking of Fire Arms!

Truly, anything less is condoning Criminality! Who do these laws affect? Is it not the criminals, and those of “gunman mentality”? Clearly those additions to our Laws will ensure the safety of the City, and are what is needed to stop the senseless Gun Violence!

Sir, does not Mandatory Sentence work, if the Consequence is Drastic and outweighs the crime? However, not to have a Drastic Deterrent, such as 10 years mandatory for possession and 25 years for the sellers in any society plagued with illegal gun violence and Gun Trafficking, is to fail the innocent victims and the society! Since this is so, then how is this not comprehendible to Mr. Arnold Minors, the Policy Development Officer and Community Safety Secretariat?

Clearly such drastic actions will put a stop to Illegal Gun Trafficking, and the benefits are lives saved, a safer City, the removal of a criminal Entity from the society, and the Guns out of the hands of youths!

Ms. Searles-Elam says, neither you, nor City Hall can adopt Mandatory Laws; such acts of laws are done at the Federal level! Mr. Miller, since you are the Mayor, it is for you to meet with our prime Minister, and Premier, and put forth the proposed adoptions to the Laws! There should be no obstacle, because both the prime Minister and the Premier pledged to fight Gun Violence!

Secondly, for our beloved City to return to its normality is it not crucial for the creation of “Conscious Public Awareness” for Zero Gun Tolerance within the society? Does not Conscious Public Awareness create changes?

Clearly what is proposed is the solution, to end Gun Violence! Even, those of the general public and the businesses that have been informed, in the ongoing campaign are in total agreement!

As such, for City Hall to reject what could become the most effective campaign to return normality to our City is clearly an insult to the innocent victims and the City of Toronto! For Ms. Searles-Elam to claim that the City of Toronto cannot afford the cost of $150,000 is nothing less than a “Total Disregard” for the lives of Torontonians! Especially, when the financial return on the investment, can become ten times and more, to be used to fund many Charities! Were not millions pledged to fight Gun Violence? Therefore how much is to be spent on “The SOLUTION”?

Sir, for the benefit of the City of Toronto, I beseech you, please reconsider the City’s position. Become the champion of the people and sponsor the campaign for the Awareness of Zero Gun Tolerance! For the plain truth is: If a society does not bear arms and the deterrent within the Laws does not stand for Zero Gun Tolerance, or Awareness is created, you cannot put an end to the rise in Gun Violence within a growing city, especially when Gun Hype and the lure of quick money is part of the social structure of today’s youths!

Clearly, the integrity of City Hall rests upon your decision! For our governments not to adopt the proposed additions to our laws, knowing the statistics of the Gun Violence is to play with the lives of the people! Sir, in making your decision, please remember this, cures are cheap, but treatments are very costly, and after all that spending you will still be without “the Cure”! Therefore do you wish to end the Gun Violence or Not? Thank you! Again, I hereby formally request an appointment with you to further this discussion.

Please note: this letter will be published in I BLACK on-line magazine, as well as your response, when received, as public updates on the campaign!
